Learning curve

Sat Feb 24, 2007, 1:46 PM
well.. since i've been on, I've put up about 34 photos. It's really interesting to see the difference between what I think is good and what others like (Turns out that it's true... sex does sell). But I've actually received a lot of good feedback on everything.

I've really gotten some great comments from fantastic photographers like JACAC [link] and HighStatic [link] who's galleries in themselves have gotten me to be more attentiove to presentation as well as the composition. I find that I'm spending a bit more time tweaking levels and such and adding borders to photos. All I need now is better equipment. I've learned to love my little Cannon SD300 for things like concerts or other places where camera's aren't allowed (Sin City for example... heh) and it does allow for a decent amount of control... but I look at my dad's digital Minolta SLR .... and wow, that thing is awesome. Well... maybe in a few paychecks.

Anyhow.. I just wanted to say thanks to those who offer advice and praise, and thanks to those just swinging by and checking it out. That's what it's all about anyways.

Unfortunately, I spoil myself too often... and sometimes it takes the form of spoiling my girlfriend (See my new boots shot for example). But I've got a new job lined up which should makes things a little easier.

Well its all part of life, I mean, we will get new cameras sooner or later, why not spoil ourselves a little.. Besides the best tool is the eye and not the lens :)
