Big Update

Thu Mar 1, 2007, 11:17 PM
I just uploaded 20 (plus or minus a few) new photos today. I'm always amazed by the instant influx of new visitors. My page views went up by 100 by the time I finished actually uploading them... I think I've gotten myself a little obsessed with this.

Anyhow... One thing I'm looking for in a response is that if there are any faux pas in my photos... please let me know. Otherwise ah won't learn nuthin'. Any tips, criticism, and pointing out good stuff will ultimately aid me in getting my shit together and figuring out what I'm doing.

Thank you all for the comments, favs, and attention I've gotten over the past week.

Take it easy.

Hi,

you asked for some feedback, so here's my 0.02c (for what its worth).

Basically I think your pictures show a lot of imagination and promise. The only thing holding them back is probably the lighting; studio lighting rigs, preferably with softboxes are the only way (imo) to get better pictures in most indoor locations. Obviously they're damned expensive but they're the only way to get shots like this :thumb49905467: !

The other great alternative is daylight - window light is usually very flattering :thumb46947864: is a great shot which I think was done with window lighting (god i hope i'm right about that, if not I'm really really sorry Perry!)

That seems about 0.02c worth! Keep up the good work. I wish i'd been taking pictures like yours (:thumb49934263: is my favourite btw) when I was your age!!!!

All the best

Dave

pox! the thumbnails didn't come out right. :(

Too bad about the thumbnails....I don't know why they don't seem to work on my pages/comments. Any idea? I can't seem to find a setting for it.

Anyhow, thanks a lot for the advice. I was actually trying to work on the lighting. I bought a cheap handheld light from a hardware store and for the softer shots hung a shirt over it (I know... very ghetto). And for the harder shots, I just held it in one hand while shooting with the other. It was a lot of fun but with limited results.

If it isn't too much trouble, could you possible send me direct links to the thumbs you sent me?

Oh...and I took a look at your gallery. Awesome stuff. It's so great to get good advice especially when it's from someone with photos like yours.

Take it easy.. and thanks again.
